Story: Mount Vinson’s Winter Wish

Far, far away, where the world turns white and the sun forgets to rise, Mount Vinson stood tall and still.

The snow whispered. The wind danced. But most days, Vinson just watched the stars.

One evening, as the sky turned deep purple, Pippo the Penguin slipped and landed face-first in a snowbank.

“Hey Vinson!” he chirped. “Do you ever make wishes?”

Vinson blinked slowly. “Mountains don’t speak loudly… but sometimes, we do wish.”

“What do you wish for?” Pippo asked, brushing snow off his beak.

Vinson looked up. “I wish for a friend who can hear even when I whisper.”

Just then, the sea rumbled gently. Waver the Whale surfaced nearby and sang a low, beautiful note:

“WooooOOOOoooo…”

Pippo gasped. “Waver heard you!”

Vinson smiled. “She always does. Whales speak the language of quiet things.”

Etna burst in, sneezing from the cold: “ACHOO! I heard it too, but can we please go somewhere warmer?!”

Everest sent down a soft breeze from the top of the world, like a hug made of frost.

“You don’t need many words, Vinson. Some friendships are made of stillness.”

Vinson nodded, snowflakes sparkling on his head.

And that night, his heart felt warm, even in the coldest corner of the world.

Moral:

Even in silence, wishes can be heard. Some friendships don’t need noise, they just need heart.
